Shri. N. Rangachary

Mr. N. Rangachary has been the Chairman of Equitas Holdings Ltd. since July 26, 2007. He was made an Independent Director on the 29th of June, 2015. He joined the Indian Revenue Service in 1960 and was appointed Chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes in June 1995. In July 1996, he was appointed Chairman of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDAI). In the year 2000, after IRDA became an autonomous body, he was made its first chairman in June 2003. He has also served as the adviser to the Finance Department of the Government of Andhra Pradesh between November 2003 and November 2008. He is a member of the high-level committee set up by the Prime Minister in 2012 to bring clarity to taxation issues.

Mr. Subramanian Ramadorai

Padma Bhushan Subramanian Ramadorai was the adviser to the Prime Minister of India in the National Council on Skill Development, Government of India. He is also the Chairperson of the governing board of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences and Bharathidasan Institute of Management, Chairman of the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Guwahati, and Tata Elxsi. Earlier, he was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director (MD) of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) from 1996 to 2009 and Vice Chairman of TCS till the 6th of October, 2014, transforming the company from $400 million in revenue and 6000 employees to one of the world's largest software and services companies with more than 2,00,000 employees working in 42 countries and revenues over US$20 billion. In recognition of his commitment and dedication to the IT industry, he was awarded the Padma Bhushan, India's third-highest civilian honor, in January 2006. In April 2009, he was awarded the Commander of the Order of the British Empire by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth for his contribution to Indo-British economic relations.

Mr. P. N. Vasudevan

Mr. P. N. Vasudevan is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director (MD) of Equitas Small Finance Bank Ltd. Before to this, he was the Executive Vice President and Head of the Consumer Banking Group at Development Credit Bank Ltd., based out of Mumbai. Earlier, he worked at Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Co. Ltd., a part of the Murugappa Group, for 20 years, based out of Chennai. He joined Cholamandalam as a management trainee in the year 1986, and he finally resigned as Vice President and Business Head, heading all their business lines. He was also the Chairman of the South India Hire Purchase Association during the 2005–06.

Dr. C. K. Gariyali

Dr. C. K. Gariyali, IAS (Retd.), served as the former Secretary to the Governor of Tamilnadu. She holds a postgraduate degree in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work from the Delhi School of Social Work and a doctorate in Women's Studies from Mother Teresa University. She studied Poverty Alleviation at the University of Sussex and Women's Empowerment at the Queen Elizabeth House at Oxford University. She is the 1972 Batch Officer of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). Earlier, she served as the Collector of Chennai and South Arcot districts, and she has also served as the Secretary to the Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. She was a pioneer in starting the cancer screening program for women in 1987 and helped the Adyar Cancer Hospital in obtaining the land, earlier belonging to Raj Bhavan. She is known as the "Mother of SHGs" and has written 5 books on women's empowerment and poverty reduction through the self-group movement of Tamil Nadu. Dr. C. K. Gariyali has been associated as a trustee with Equitas since its formation in the year 2007. As a Founder Trustee, she has been actively involved in guiding the Equitas Development Initiatives Trust in all its welfare activities since its inception.

Dr. Hemanth Raj

Trustee

Dr. Hemanth Raj is the Executive Vice Chairman of Adyar Cancer Institute, Chennai. He is also an adjunct professor at the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai. He completed his MBBS at Stanley Medical College in 1978 and his MS in 1984. He completed his doctorate at the University of Madras in 1996 on the topic of locally advanced breast cancer and certain prognostic factors. He holds a WHO fellowship in cancer control at many centres in Europe, North America, and Hong Kong, and the UICC Fellowship on Gastric Cancer in Japan. He published 24 books and made nine presentations at various international conferences. He served as president of the Indian Society of Oncology and the Indian Association of Surgical Oncology. He has been honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award by Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai. He served as a senior consultant in surgical oncology at Apollo Speciality Hospital and Southern Railway Headquarters, Chennai.

Shri PA Murali

Pillar of Support

Sri P A Murali, the son of Smt Gomathi & Sri PV Ananthasubramaniam, was brought up in a family whose Kulaguru is the Sringeri Jagadguru. His grandfather, Sri R Venkateswara Iyer, a lawyer from Tirunelveli had organised the camp of Jagadguru Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahaswamiji in Pathai (Tamil Nadu) in 1957. Sri P A Murali’s father-in-law, Sri Venkateswaran was an ardent devotee of Jagadguru Sri Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahaswamiji and Jagadguru Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam and was blessed to receive Sannyasa under the guidance of the Sringeri Jagadguru.

Given such a family background, Sri P A Murali grew up with a natural devotion to the Sringeri Jagadgurus. A commerce graduate of AM Jain College, Chennai, he moved to Bengaluru in 1978 and became a Chartered accountant. With over three decades of professional experience in various corporate roles where he held executive positions including those of Executive Director & Chief Financial Officer, Sri PA Murali brings a unique blend of professional acumen and deep commitment to Sringeri Math.

After ending his professional career in 2015, Sri PA Murali has been actively involved in various dharmic activities of Sringeri Sharada Peetham, contributing both through personal service and philanthropy. He has also served the 37th Acharya, Jagadguru Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Sannidhanam during various Vijaya Yatras. Subsequently, Sri Murali gained additional insight and expertise by assuming some responsibilities of the Math.

In 2022, as part of the Divya Saptati Mahotsava conducted in commemoration of the 70th birth year celebrations of Jagadguru Sri Mahasannidhanam, Sri PA Murali was awarded the “Bharati Tirtha Puraskara” by Jagadguru Sri Sannidhanam.

During the Sharada Sharan Navaratri Mahotsava in 2023, he was Honored with the title “Guru Seva Nirata” by Sri Mahasannidhanam for his dedicated Guru seva.

Presently, as per the order of the Jagadguru Sri Mahasannidhanam, Guru Seva Nirata Sri PA Murali has commenced serving as the Administrator & CEO of Sringeri Math with effect from January 25, 2024.

Mr. Saravanamuthu Muralidharan

Mr. Saravanamuthu Muralidharan is an accomplished leader in HR and organizational development with over 28 years of experience. He holds a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.B.A. in Marketing from reputed institutions. His career spans 16 years in sales & marketing and 12 years in HR leadership at Equitas. As Chief People Officer of Equitas Small Finance Bank, he played a key role in shaping its culture and growth. He also led the bank’s educational initiatives between 2013 and 2019. Under his leadership, Equitas ranked 21st in India’s Best Companies to Work For (2011). His work at Equitas Gurukul Schools earned national recognition for workplace excellence, reflecting his dedication to building ethical, inclusive, and high-impact organizations.

Mr. Arcot Sravanakumar

Mr. Arcot Sravanakumar, President & Programme Director for Healthcare and Educational Initiatives at Equitas, has been with the group for the past 13 years. With over 31 years of experience across different portfolios in leading FMCG, OMC, and reputed retail formats, he has spent the majority of his career mentoring passionate young minds and shaping them into various leadership roles. An alumnus of Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, and an MDP from XLRI, Mr. A. Sravanakumar has been associated with many social initiatives of the company.

Dr.Vaithiswaran Velayoudam

A reputed Gastrointestinal (GI) cancer surgeon and an expert in minimally invasive surgery. He comes from a rich academic background, having trained at premier institutions like JIPMER and AIIMS and having worked with rich work experience from top hospitals in the country. He has many accomplishments to his credit, including international presentations and publications. He is committed to our mission of providing affordable and equitable healthcare that is ethical, world-class, and compassionate.

Dr. Stephen Mathew

Chief Operating Officer

Dr. Stephen Mathew is a healthcare executive experienced in leading medical services and clinical and non-clinical operations. As a microbiologist (MBBS, MD), he was involved in training and research as faculty at medical colleges. He later pursued an MBA in healthcare management and was part of the senior administrative team at medical colleges, corporate hospitals, and trust hospitals. He is passionate about transforming health systems and improving access to quality healthcare.
